Summary

BRSP in collaboration with International Organization for Migration (IOM), is implementing the “Supporting Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) Holders and Undocumented Afghans in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response in Balochistan Province” initiative. This project is being operated in districts Quetta, Pishin, Killah Saifullah, Loralai, and Chaghi from January– December 2024, focusing on enhancing protection for Afghan migrants. By improving access to specialized GBV services and bolstering community-level protection capacities, the project aims to create a safer environment for vulnerable populations.

Key activities include mapping protection risks, strengthening referral mechanisms, providing GBV case management services, training Community Outreach Volunteers (COVs), and developing community action plans. The project also emphasizes establishing feedback mechanisms and raising awareness through sessions and coordination with GBV network agencies. With dedicated efforts to integrate these practices into local frameworks, the initiative strives to support GBV survivors through Women and Girls Friendly Spaces (WGFS) and strengthen community resilience, leading to reduced GBV incidents and improved socio-economic well-being.
